The Family History of Stephen Borden

More

You found me out! From among all the other Bordens, in this website, I alone am the author of this site.

Born in 1950, I am married to Patricia A (Fox) Borden - Patty to everyone except our grandchildren. To them she is Vavo.

Patty grew up in Fall River, I in Somerset.

Matthew and Nathan, featured in this site are my sons. One could not hope for better sons; brighter students, better parents, better athletes (well, ok, they're a little weak in that characteristic), more accomplished professionals or better citizens. They are the best, the product of a great mother.

As for me,

After spending about 7 years in undergraduate school, experimenting with different majors I found my niche - two of them actually.

I served 27 years in the US Army Reserve retiring as a Colonel, Army Nurse Corps. Most notable assignments included Chief Nurse, 399th Combat Support Hospital, Chief Nurse 804th Medical Brigade and I served with a MASH unit attached to the 3rd Armor Div during the invasion of Iraq in the 1991 Gulf War. We should have ended it then!

I served 34 years for the VA Medical Center, Providence, RI in various roles; Head Nurse Surgical Intensive Care, Chief Quality Management, and on March 1, 2008, I retired. Then, after 4 months of retirement, I returned to VA as COO of VISN 1 Specialty and Acute Care Service Line.
