In 1956 (about), Andrew T. Borden, brother of my father James F Borden, left Westport , Ma for California, wIth his wife Mary and 3 children (at that time, Barbara, Andrew and Joyce. Ricky was born a year or so later.) They settled in La Mirada. A year after Andy left for California, James F Borden (my father) my mother, Carol, Peter and I also moved to La Mirada. My father bought a house on the same block as Andy and his family. Our house was 14402 Dunnet Ave, I believe.
Both my father and uncle Andy were bankers.
By 1959 my father, homesick for Fall River, decided to move back and we settled then in Somerset, MA and he returned to the Union Savings Bank.
Andy's kids were raised mostly in La Mirada,. Later he took a position in Hobbs, New Mexico and he died while they were living there. Andy's wife Mary, Andrew and Ricky returned to California. Barbara was married and lived in California. Joyce also married and lived in Texas and later Florida.
While Jim's children call the Fall River area home, Andy's children call California home and the children of their children, now moving to other areas in search of opportunity, as did Jim and Andy, sadly, know little of one another.
