What Oak Grove is to Bordens, and Oak Street is to Wheelers, the Swansea Friends / Nathan Slade cemetery in Somerset is to Chaces/Chases. I plan to be buried here because I grew up in Somerset and because my parents are here. My mother's siblings and parents , Fred Askew and Nancy Chace Askew are here. Nancy was also a Quaker as were her Chace ancestors. Her mother, my gr-grandmother, Annie Laurie Ould Chace is here. Annie's husband, Jerome Chace is in Mt Hope Cem Swansea with his first wife. and his parents my gr-gr grandparents Enoch and Mary Chace. But Jerome's , grandparents, my gr-gr-gr grandparents, Moses and Phoebe Chace are here in the Slade Cem.
Somerset was established as a separate town, breaking away from Swansea, after this church was established. The name Swansea Friends remains. As of 2007 there are only two remaining members of this church.
